Brazilian Blowout Shampoo and Conditioner..

Acai Anti-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner

IMG_1989

Everyone who’s had a Brazilian Blowout treatment in the past should know about this shampoo and conditioner combo, usually recommended for use after one because of its properties that make the treatment last longer and gives the hair softness. I’m usually one of these people who use any type of shampoo/conditioner so don’t normally think much to using the ‘so called right’ ones, but I had a client who was using normal shampoo and conditioner after her Brazilian Blowout and found it was dry, and difficult to manage, she then used this combo above and said it was 100% better on her hair, so there you have it!

In their own words:

Acai Anti-Frizz Shampoo – Sulfate free formula that thoroughly cleanses the hair while maintaining vital moisture for increased strength and radiant shine. An exclusive Brazilian Super Nutrient Complex infuses the hair with a rich source of amino acids to help strengthen while locking in moisture and locking out humidity! Acai Anti-Frizz Conditioner – is a deep moisturizing conditioner that infuses the hair in the vital moisture and nutrients needed to maintain the optimal strength and health of the hair. An exclusive Brazilian Super Nutrient Complex fortifies and repairs the hair while locking in moisture and locking out humidity. The end result is healthy frizz free radiant hair.

Prive–Amplifier

Root Amplifier – #36

IMG_2012

This recently repackaged Root Amplifier is now in an easier to spray bottle than the can it was previously in. I have to admit I don’t really use it too much as I LOVE Prive’s Amplifier so much I tend to stick to that one, but other stylists who do use if more often love it and think it works really well to give the roots lift and body. It gives instant volume by spraying sections of the roots at a time.

Prives description:

Enriched with quillaja and rosemary, this adds extreme precise voluminous shine and soft control. Infuses weightless volume and fullness to fine thin hair.

(I looked up Quillaja out of curiosity and it is a soapbark tree, the inner bark can be reduced to powder and employed as a substitute for soap, I would’ve thought this key ingredient would be better used with shampoos becos of its lathering properties, although the scents from the tree are often used in perfumes and cosmetics so maybe in this case its used for the smells)

Hold 6” away from towel dried hair and apply to the entire root area near the scalp. Style as usual.

Black–15 in 1 treatment

15 in 1 MIRACLE treatment

IMG_1992

I must admit when I first saw this product describe itself as a ‘miracle’ treatment I was skeptical, of course, it takes a lot to feel comfortable to use that word for a product description, but hey after using it, I feel like they are pretty close in most cases! I have used this product quite a lot so I feel I can give fairly accurate judgment on it.

When I first tried this, becos it was a liquidy spray I felt that it couldn’t do that much, but as I started to blow dry it, I found that even with using your fingers only, the hair starts to feel very soft and frizz free. On finer hair, it almost doesn’t even need the brush, but on afew occasions when I have used it on ultra coarse frizzy hair it doesn’t work so great and even with pulling it through with a brush, it doesn’t quite do it! But for every one in 30 that it doesn’t do that much for, I must admit I have become a fan : )

The only complaint I have is the design and size of the bottle doesn’t quite fit well into my smaller hands. I don’t have the strength to pump and spray with one hand while I cover my clients face with the other, so I have to uncover the face so that I can do the 2 handed spray with one hand underneath. But I guess people with normal sized hands will be fine.

Anyway, FYI, here is their own description of the product:
A deeply nourishing treatment rich in botanicals, proteins and key nutrients, providing total care for soft, silky feel good beautiful hair. Adds shine/softens and smooth’s/detangles/prevents frizz and flyaways/moisturizes/ repairs dry damaged hair/protect against heat styling/seals and protects hair color/prevents split ends/ promotes scalp circulation/stops hair breakage/ strengthens hair/ enhances natural body/ heals hair shaft/ prevent scalp itch.

Available in 2 sizes, 1fl oz and 3.3fl oz.

Davines – Authentic Cleanser & Moisturiser.

Used for the Hair Face and Body

I really wanted to share my latest favorite shampoo and conditioner from Davines with you. This combination is fairly new in the market and I was first introduced to it about a year ago, luckily we carry the whole Davines line in Dekko Salon, anyway, as soon as I tried it, I was hooked!! So good, my boyfriend had to hide it from me cos I was using up his supply too fast!!

Authentic Cleansing Nectar – This shampoo is so soft that it can be used on the hair and body. It contains Organic Carthame Oil with no parabens, no artificial colors, no silicons and no sulphates. I found this shampoo easy to foam despite the gentleness of it, I also used it on my body and gave it a cleanse too which left my skin very soft and supple : )

Authentic Moisturising Balm – This moisturiser is used on the Hair, Body and the face too. It s contains 98% natural derived ingredients with Organic Carthame Oil. To use on the hair : Apply onto the ends of cleansed damp hair, leave for afew minutes then rinse well. Face: Apply with a cotton pad to eliminate impurities and face up. Body: Apply on damp skin and leave on for a few minutes, and then rinse well.
I noticed the spelling is the European/UK way, but what the hell, Davines is an Italian company so I’m following their way for this article.

Both available in large and travel sizes.

Multi-Purpose Sprays..

Bumble and Bumble’s Blondish Hair Powder:

I’ve always admired Bumble & Bumble for their styling products, for me who is a cutter rather than a technician, I am always on the look out for styling products that work well. I have always felt that Bumble & Bumble is one of those companies that concentrated on their styling products rather than cleansing products, this was a first that I saw, which has inspired me to do the same one day.
When Bumble & Bumble first brought out a ‘dry shampoo’ I loved it. Since then they have progressed to spray colored versions of it. They claim to not only add fullness and enhance colors and blend roots, they also dry cleanse and to get an extra day out of your blow dry, I was very excited to try them, and did so quite afew times, but I have to say I found these colored hair powders to be abit too sticky for my liking, and I felt that although it definitely gave the hair body, I couldn’t put my fingers through my hair as it left color in my nails and fingers. But all in all, I have heard very good reviews from others about it who don’t mind the stickiness or the color in the nails, so good one guys!

Great Reviews..

There really is nothing like a couple of great reviews to start the day off… Thank Lindsay and Amanda …

I know I’ve said this before but your dry shampoo/texturizer is quite honestly the best stuff ever. I even use it on my clean, dry hair to give it more density and texture. I’ve never found anything else like it and I’ve tried so many things! I’m half asian but I totally inherited the asian hair gene full-on. I have thick individual strands of hair but sometimes (especially in the bangs area) I can see a sparse look. It’s not like balding, but just sparse…especially if my hair gets oily…know what I mean? Anyway, your product totally helps it look less sparse, too. I’ll be a lifelong supporter of JuJuChan!

I can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!

xoxo,
Lindsay

Finally a product that does what it says!!! My hair is long, fine and extremely straight, because of this my hair tends to weigh itself down and on those days that I didn’t wash my hair well let’s just say it hasn’t always been pretty….until I started using Juju Chan texture powder!!!!

Trust me I’ve tried them all the dry shampoos that promise your hair will look like you just washed it…NOT! The products that promise more body….ugh those are the worst. They last 5 mins and then you are stuck with gross product in your hair and it’s still flat…FAIL!!!
I came across this product by chance and after that first time using it (without knowing where to get it) I ran to Sephora to see if they carried it….they didn’t and I was completely shocked. How could a product this great not be in there stores?! Luckily I discovered that you could purchase online or Dekko Salon (yay for me for living so close to my favorite salon 🙂

Since using this product I tend to like my hair more on the days I haven’t washed it, It gives it wonderful body, takes away any grease and I swear it makes my thin hair feel like it’s doubled in thickness. On the days I do wash my hair I still use it to give my hair a bit more oomph. Love love love this stuff!!!

Anime Contacts Lenses..

I have noticed everywhere I look nowadays there are young women (Asian, in particular) who have been walking around with Anime contacts in. For those who don’t know what they are – these are contacts of any color that are larger than the average size contacts that gives the ‘doll’ like look. Of course Lady Gaga had to be there first with her ginormous contacts for her Bad Romance video. I have a suspicious feeling that one day soon I will be writing about her latest shoulder horns when they too become mainstream!!

So here’s the advertising version of one eye in, along with my very own version.. of course I had to try!!

And then this is with both eyes in:

Now here we have the classic pose, to make your eyes look even bigger:

And here are the different colors, Lighter Brown, and for added effect I wore blue in one eye (right) and violet in the other (left)!

Cute right? Yeah, maybe if cute, funky and under 40!! Just to show you how it can look if it starts to wander within the eye.. not a very good look on me.. HaHa! Confused smile Play around and enjoy. There’s many online stores that sell them although a lot are overseas but definitely worth getting some to try out and mess around with.

V & G Magic Clay..

V&G Aqua - Magic Clay

The Magic Clay is a fairly pliable creamy based product manufactured by a Japanese company, I have tried this one on several occasions but mainly on shorter haircuts that need some hold for a messy look. I found the consistency to be fairly easy to work with especially for a clay (as most can be very thick and difficult to distribute evenly) Its pliable enough to use on medium length thicker hair textures which need to look messy or have to chunkiness to it. I would definitely recommend this for texture.

Post Sally Hansen…

I recently wrote a post about Sally Hansen’s stick on nail varnish and went on about how great I thought they were. Well, now I feel it only fair to give you the update on what I thought. As you know, I spent my first 10 days with the ‘fishnet’ look, and then immediately onto the ‘lace’ look for my next 10 days.

I really liked them and enjoyed my time with them on, but a week after wearing them, I noticed how dry my nails had become and they started feeling very thin and weak and were cracking around the edges. So, I hate to say this but although its good to use them on a short term basis, its not good to have them constantly on your nails. I feel as if the nails don’t get to breath hence them becoming so dehydrated!

Oh well, I’ll save it for those special occasions : (
