My Pick ~ Scruffy Bob Shapes

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these 3 shapes. Even though they are all quite simple hairstyles, you know how much I love my scruffy messy looks, they all look as if they were cut with razors, but not overly done like some Asian hair can be.

If any styles are going to tempt me to chop off my messed up hair, these would do it : )

Razor Faded Pompadour ~ one for the boys

I came across this cool video showing Schorem Barber Shop from the Netherlands doing a fabulous Razor Faded Pompadour, very talented indeed, I thought you boys would like it, I must say it’s so nice to see some cool hair for men for a change.  I will keep you posted of any other videos they may have for you boys to check out..

Description from their FB page which has over 51,000 ‘likes’…
‘Schorem Haarsnijder en Barbier is a men only old school barbershop specialized in traditional haircuts and hot towel straight razor shaves.’

Dekko’s Daily Grind ~ Maria

Maria comes to have her haircut once a year with me. She usually cuts all her hair off, then grows it through, has it long for a while and then comes back and whips it all off again. I love the fun of cutting off her long thick coarse hair every time. So this time I was happy to have my phone around ready to take snapshots of it.

Here’s Maria with her long locks when she came in:

We used the razor as well as scissors to achieve this look. The razor brought out the natural waves in the hair and we were able to keep the coarse neckline abit softer without having to scissor over comb it off. We then twisted the hair with a styling cream and dried it while twisting it. Here’s afew angles of her fresh new look:

Dekko’s Daily Grind ~ Marisa

We all got a bloomin’ shock when our ex-stylist Marisa, walked in after we hadn’t seen her for over 2 years. Marisa worked with us right from day one in Dekko and after 7years she moved on from us. I know she’s now a brilliant math teacher but jeez, She totally looked like Crystal Gayle! (although I’m sure she’ll kill me if she read this) She hadn’t had her haircut in years and came in to shape herself up again.

So here is Marisa before: (sorry about the bright lights)

And here is Marisa after we cut, chopped, sliced, thinned, hacked, twisted and dried her gorgeous wavy locks, it was fun to attack so much hair and yes Marisa, your still a doll, a very intelligent intellectually brainy math doll!

My New Article for MHD – Scissors Versus Razors

I know I said I wasn’t writing anymore articles for the site MyHairdressers.com but I came up with a good article idea to write about so once again I did my best to collect my visions to match my write up..

‘Scissors versus Razors’ give people lets people know the differences in the different techniques as well as helping clients know what to ask for when going off to the hairdressers.

Happy Reading….. Scissors Versus Razors, feel free to give it a ‘like’ on the page, Thanks.

My Pick ~ Cute-ish

This haircut was done by Tyler Johnston who is Ambassador for Schwarzkopf. A cute bob shape with blunt and soft edges combined. Color makes it pop by what looks like slices added throughout the layers. Fairly simple look but quite cute –ish. (I know ~ I’m not fully committing here)
