Maria comes to have her haircut once a year with me. She usually cuts all her hair off, then grows it through, has it long for a while and then comes back and whips it all off again. I love the fun of cutting off her long thick coarse hair every time. So this time I was happy to have my phone around ready to take snapshots of it.
Here’s Maria with her long locks when she came in:
We used the razor as well as scissors to achieve this look. The razor brought out the natural waves in the hair and we were able to keep the coarse neckline abit softer without having to scissor over comb it off. We then twisted the hair with a styling cream and dried it while twisting it. Here’s afew angles of her fresh new look:
We all got a bloomin’ shock when our ex-stylist Marisa, walked in after we hadn’t seen her for over 2 years. Marisa worked with us right from day one in Dekko and after 7years she moved on from us. I know she’s now a brilliant math teacher but jeez, She totally looked like Crystal Gayle! (although I’m sure she’ll kill me if she read this) She hadn’t had her haircut in years and came in to shape herself up again.
So here is Marisa before: (sorry about the bright lights)
And here is Marisa after we cut, chopped, sliced, thinned, hacked, twisted and dried her gorgeous wavy locks, it was fun to attack so much hair and yes Marisa, your still a doll, a very intelligent intellectually brainy math doll!
I know I said I wasn’t writing anymore articles for the site MyHairdressers.com but I came up with a good article idea to write about so once again I did my best to collect my visions to match my write up..
‘Scissors versus Razors’ give people lets people know the differences in the different techniques as well as helping clients know what to ask for when going off to the hairdressers.

Just wanted to show you a quick makeover on Shelley who came in recently to have a change in color as well as a slight change in the style of fringe.
Shelley had never really tried having a fringe before so we gave her quite a heavy one so it could keep the slight wave in her hair weighted down more. We also put a lot more layering into the rest of the hair so the curl would bounce up much more.
Color wise, Jodi took the color from a coppery shade and lifted it up to a beigey blondey shade which is very flattering to the complexion. Great look Shelley all round : )

I came across these great images from the American Salon magazine which featured the new release of Schwarzkopf’s new and exciting color – Igora Royal.
The Igora Royal color line delivers 50% longer color retention and 25% greater vibrancy without fadeage.
This spring/summer 2013 collection from Schwarzkopf and Essential Looks highlights 4 different trends spilt into these categories: White Angels, Mono Mods, Glam Chic and Electric Youth, all of which have been colored with the new igora Royal.
Hair by Steve Hogan,(Schwarzkopf) Tyler Johnston and Lesley Lawson (Essential Looks)
I have picked out 4 of my favorite looks from the White Angels and the the Electric Youth collections. Hope you enjoy them.

King of catwalk hair and hair mentor on TV the show ‘Shear Genius”, Orlando Pita is often renowned for his elaborate and Avant garde hairdo’s. But for this Vogue shoot he kept the styles (whether wigs or their own hair) very cutesy short and clean looking.. I chose them as my pick because I find them very fresh looking.
