Sad to hear of this huge loss today – David Bowie RIP <3

Every year I watch the red carpet arrivals to see if anyone excites me with their hairstyle enough for me to want to write about it.
This year was another fairly basic show with hair that was nice, pretty, and feminine with the undo’s and downdo’s etc. but to me, nothing too spectacular. Maybe its because Award’s hair is no longer as cool or impressive as it used to be, this year there was no Jennifer Lawrence with her short messy do, or Rosamund Pike with her undercut bob or Charlize Theron with her gorgeous pixie.
But if I had to pick one that stood out to me tonight I would have to choose Rooney Mara with her huge rocker braid. A slight mix of punk with classic.. very stunning!
Thanks to Just Jared for having these great pictures of her hair, not an easy task to find pictures of the back of celebs heads…

Nancy came into Dekko wanting to donate all her hair to charity. She really wasn’t too worried about going too short so we decided to take all her hair off to chin length. I cut her hair with the razor to try to bring out any movement and wave that she might have in her hair. It was a good move, because as soon as the weight came off the hair, lots of kicks and twists came through in her hair which allowed me to work with it and create a cutesy messy bob shape that she could also wear smooth if she needed to.
Here’s Nancy before her haircut:
This is after the haircut, (sorry about picture quality in these) we styled it with some Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray and finished off with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray:

Really love this modern take on the Halo Haircut. Not quite as precise as the classic bowl cut, but I love this one because it’s abit rougher around the edges and the sides are abit shorter giving it a cross between a halo and a touch of mullet. Love it!
Unfortunately I came across this haircut but it had no credit for the haircut, and you know how that bugs me so much, I will continue to hunt down the producer of this great look and once I find out, I’ll let you all know..
We just put this package together of my Texture Powder Styler to present to a HUGE company, I wont mention which one yet in case I jinx it, but someone in there liked it enough to take it further… Will let you all know how it goes. I now put it out there to the universe and I will now release and let go of all expectations, what will be will be : ) Huge Thanks to my friends who helped me get this together in such a short time xoxo
Welcoming some good fortune, keep yours fingers and toes crossed for me..
Back in my day in England it was known as the ‘Purdey’, named after Joanna Lumley’s character Purdey who wore this hairdo on the TV show – The Avengers in the 70’s. Also known as the classic ‘Halo’ made famous by Vidal Sassoon’s.
Fabulous haircut done by Sid Sidali, Coiffeur Salon, Paris
Haircut and Color by Francesco Group Creative Team (which, to me means someone who’s left the company) Picture by Jack Eames.
Lovely precise graduated bob/pixie shape haircut on Asian hair enhanced by the mixing of colors – Brunette with Cobalt pieces streaking through it. Lovely work!
