My Pick..

Taken from a DSquared Ad, its most probably a wig but hey, I liked the total look of it a lot.

Love the bowl shape as well as the way it has slightly chunky edges and a little bit of layering throughout the edges. We used us call this the pageboy/halo style back in the Vidal Sassoon UK days.

If anyone is interested, there’s a great new educational website that features a heck of a lot of talent showing alot of haircuts and colors. Here is a clip of a video of a classic Halo haircut demonstrated by Stacey Broughton. (Ex Artistic Director from Sassoons)

Great Reviews..

There really is nothing like a couple of great reviews to start the day off… Thank Lindsay and Amanda …

I know I’ve said this before but your dry shampoo/texturizer is quite honestly the best stuff ever. I even use it on my clean, dry hair to give it more density and texture. I’ve never found anything else like it and I’ve tried so many things! I’m half asian but I totally inherited the asian hair gene full-on. I have thick individual strands of hair but sometimes (especially in the bangs area) I can see a sparse look. It’s not like balding, but just sparse…especially if my hair gets oily…know what I mean? Anyway, your product totally helps it look less sparse, too. I’ll be a lifelong supporter of JuJuChan!

I can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!

xoxo,
Lindsay

Finally a product that does what it says!!! My hair is long, fine and extremely straight, because of this my hair tends to weigh itself down and on those days that I didn’t wash my hair well let’s just say it hasn’t always been pretty….until I started using Juju Chan texture powder!!!!

Trust me I’ve tried them all the dry shampoos that promise your hair will look like you just washed it…NOT! The products that promise more body….ugh those are the worst. They last 5 mins and then you are stuck with gross product in your hair and it’s still flat…FAIL!!!
I came across this product by chance and after that first time using it (without knowing where to get it) I ran to Sephora to see if they carried it….they didn’t and I was completely shocked. How could a product this great not be in there stores?! Luckily I discovered that you could purchase online or Dekko Salon (yay for me for living so close to my favorite salon 🙂

Since using this product I tend to like my hair more on the days I haven’t washed it, It gives it wonderful body, takes away any grease and I swear it makes my thin hair feel like it’s doubled in thickness. On the days I do wash my hair I still use it to give my hair a bit more oomph. Love love love this stuff!!!

Anime Contacts Lenses..

I have noticed everywhere I look nowadays there are young women (Asian, in particular) who have been walking around with Anime contacts in. For those who don’t know what they are – these are contacts of any color that are larger than the average size contacts that gives the ‘doll’ like look. Of course Lady Gaga had to be there first with her ginormous contacts for her Bad Romance video. I have a suspicious feeling that one day soon I will be writing about her latest shoulder horns when they too become mainstream!!

So here’s the advertising version of one eye in, along with my very own version.. of course I had to try!!

And then this is with both eyes in:

Now here we have the classic pose, to make your eyes look even bigger:

And here are the different colors, Lighter Brown, and for added effect I wore blue in one eye (right) and violet in the other (left)!

Cute right? Yeah, maybe if cute, funky and under 40!! Just to show you how it can look if it starts to wander within the eye.. not a very good look on me.. HaHa! Confused smile Play around and enjoy. There’s many online stores that sell them although a lot are overseas but definitely worth getting some to try out and mess around with.

UPS Sucks…..

A whole long week of phone calls, frustration and disappointments : (

UPS failed to deliver my Juju Chan Texture Powder Styler to the Cannes Film Festival event in time which meant I lost out completely!!!

Their excuse? No such person by that name – Not True, and concierge wouldnt accept it – ??

I did everything possible to try to have it delivered on time, even staying up till the early hours to call UPS France, and calling them every single day for a week, but no such luck.

It has taken them 8 days after I mailed the package to finally get a manager to speak to me and this made it even worse, not their fault, no refund, pay $500 to get the products back, there’s nothing they can do. I shouldve stuck to speaking to the supervisors and others who at least had sympathy and admitted this was a UPS error. Thanks so much Henry Maltez for being such a prat.

If I wasnt so exhausted with it all, I would continue to fight but what the hell, I need to let go and move on, (which I know is exactly what they wanted me to do)

I just have one thing to say to UPS – If you dont know how to go about delivering International packages, dont offer the service!! Simple as that!
And dont pick on the small companies, wear them out, just becos you can, that just SUCKS!

Saddest part about this whole thing.. I wasted time on the phone to UPS when I shouldve been spending quality time with my visiting family members, so sorry for that.

Thanks for letting me vent..

Hair Stickies…Just for fun!

I guess Joni (from Dekko Salon) was clearing out her house or something cos she gave me these weird stickies for some reason and I wondered what on earth I could do with them?

Then I came across this photo that was took when some of the Dekko girls decided to go and watch Eclipse

I thought I’d give everyone a new look and update their hairstyles abit and lo and behold, the stickies fit!!… so here’s the new version!! Thanks girls for the laff!!! (Dunno why were so stretched tho girls, I didn’t attempt to make us look slimmer)

V & G Magic Clay..

V&G Aqua - Magic Clay

The Magic Clay is a fairly pliable creamy based product manufactured by a Japanese company, I have tried this one on several occasions but mainly on shorter haircuts that need some hold for a messy look. I found the consistency to be fairly easy to work with especially for a clay (as most can be very thick and difficult to distribute evenly) Its pliable enough to use on medium length thicker hair textures which need to look messy or have to chunkiness to it. I would definitely recommend this for texture.

Post Sally Hansen…

I recently wrote a post about Sally Hansen’s stick on nail varnish and went on about how great I thought they were. Well, now I feel it only fair to give you the update on what I thought. As you know, I spent my first 10 days with the ‘fishnet’ look, and then immediately onto the ‘lace’ look for my next 10 days.

I really liked them and enjoyed my time with them on, but a week after wearing them, I noticed how dry my nails had become and they started feeling very thin and weak and were cracking around the edges. So, I hate to say this but although its good to use them on a short term basis, its not good to have them constantly on your nails. I feel as if the nails don’t get to breath hence them becoming so dehydrated!

Oh well, I’ll save it for those special occasions : (

FeatherLocks Hair Extensions..

Nikki Presta is now offering FeatherLocks Hair Extensions in Dekko Salon. So I decided to give you all a run-down of what they are, how its done and what they look like.

If your looking for a way to spruce up, vamp up, have a little change in your hair but don’t want anything permanent or damaging, then you should try FeatherLocks Extensions. These extensions are little rooster feathers ranging from 8 to 16inches in length. There is a vast amount of colors to choose from varying from solids to patterns. And as far as we know, NO roosters were hurt in the process of getting their feathers!

The great thing about these feathers is that they can be washed, blow dried, flat ironed and curled along with your own natural hair. They last between 6 – 8 weeks, and when they grow out away from the roots, they can be re-used again. Each feather costs $15 and the application time will be around 5minutes once the color of feathers and position has been decided. Of course, its best to let Nikki choose the positioning as she would know best as to what shows off the feathers more for each hairstyle. Anyway here are some pictures of Nikki putting afew pinks one into my hair:

Because I had Nikki put them into my fringe area, this meant the feathers had to be cut once they are secured into the hair. First the hair is threaded through a silicone bead and once the length is determined, the pliers will clamp down the bead so it fastens the feather in with the section of hair. Thanks to Lucky for these fab pictures. Of course, just about everyone in Dekko wanted to try it out, but here’s me, Ashley Jill, and Lucky showing ours off.

And just in case you think we look like Dog the Bounty Hunter (thnx Lucky) here’s some really cool people with the Featherlocks, as word is spreading, you can see allsorts of celebs having it done.
