Jean Paul Gaultier Hair..

Spotted on the catwalk in Milan’s Fashion Show 2012 is Jean Paul Gaultier’s fall collection, complete with spray-on hair color.


Bright colors are sprayed just on the top close to the parting with bright colors ranging from Orange to Blue to Silver and Pinks.


Stylist Guido Palau was the creative one responsible for spraying the roots with a ‘graffiti stripe’.  They had some fun while they did some ‘free styling’.
Super long extensions were blow-dried and flat ironed straight first, then by adding some super strong finishing spray, this gave the hair the base to then add the color. Bright sprays were then sprayed onto each side of the parting.


The result – Punky, rocker-ish, edgy yet chic, all at once.

My Picks ~ Electric Youth

Found these a while back in Teen Vogue. I noticed the hair was done by one of my favorite session stylists Eugene Souleiman who has worked for most top salons such as Trevor Sorbie, Bumble and Bumble, Sassoon’s, L’Oreal Professionnel. He is in my opinion one of the most outstanding stylists working today, creating fabulous inspiring work for fashion magazines and catwalks.

The photographs were taken by Sebastian Kim who has shot for Teen Vogue, Interview Mag, Harper’s Bazaar UK, China Vogue and allsorts of others publications, also with a very impressive portfolio.

Lovely to see such creative working together. I chopped down the pics so we could concentrate on the hair.. full versions can be seen on Sebastian Kim’s  blog.

New York Post -China star: sex tale a ‘smear’

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has strongly denied reports she earned $100 million by having

sex with disgraced politician Bo Xilai — and astonishingly, sources close to the “Crouching

Tiger, Hidden Dragon” star blame the reports on a smear campaign by a rival actress. It was

reported that Zhang earned a fortune by prostituting herself to powerful Chinese men between

2007 and 2011, including to Xilai, who was recently removed from power following allegations

he was involved in a murder plot. At the time, Zhang was dating financier Vivi Nevo.

They were engaged in 2008, but split in 2010. Last night, reps for Zhang said she was

consulting lawyers to sue for libel.

Her rep said, “The accusations made against [Zhang] are completely false and defamatory.

There is no truth in any of the allegations that have come forth, which are a result of cal-

curated, cruel intentions against a well-respected, established actress. Legal repercussions

are ensuing, and these slanderous reports will not be tolerated in any way.” Sources told us

that Zhang believes the allegations were spread by a “jealous rival.” One said, “This isn’t

the first time vicious rumors have been spread about her in the Chinese media by somebody

who wants her roles and her success.

” The source declined to name the rival, but added, “We will not put up with this, and will

take every action necessary.”

Fake Fringes (Bangs in the US)

I have always wondered what it would be like to use one of those fake fringes that we see around. Do they really work and how real do they look, if at all and how do they work?

I used to wear my hair with a fringe but having grown it out for quite some time now, I was beginning to miss my ‘fringey’ look, so I decided to go and get one to try out and review while I still have my own long fringe.

I picked one up from a local wig store but they didn’t have my color, slightly warm brown, so I asked them whether they could be colored as they were made from 100% real hair. The lady assured me they could be bleached colored and styled. So I ended up not taking Jodi’s (our color pro) advice to get a lighter shade to dye it darker, instead I got a darker shade to lighten up!! Wrong!  Jodi lightened it up 3 times and all it did was lift it half a shade lighter.. so, always listen to the experts and not the shop keepers people.

Anyway, this is how I sectioned off my own fringe before attaching, notice how I tuck the front bit behind the ears leaving the top section to hang over the hairpiece..

 

 

Then I tried out different lengths to see what it would look like… 1. Original fringe 2. Longer look 3. Short look

The piece itself has a little comb sewn onto the top of it and this is how you attach it to your own hair, how high/low you attach it determines how long/short your fringe sits.

 

 

And one of the important things is to Remember about the joining at the top of the head, this is the true giveaway and you want to make sure that its sitting at the right place and also not sticking/bulging up from the side view:

 

Anyway guys, what do you think? Would you try one? Does it look real? Personally I was shocked to find that they actually work well, it looks pretty real (even with the color difference) and I wore it to work one day and most people thought I’d cut my fringe off! I ended up keeping my long fringe knowing I can just get a change and stick the ‘fakey’ on anytime.

You can find many styles and colors online but most of the good ones are from Asia.

My only warning is if you move around too much, the whole thing moves with you so watch out in the wind or when running/dancing or doing any activities : )

My Pick..Fan Bing Bing

Picked out from Vogue Magazine, these great 40’s/50’s rocker looks is modeled on Fan Bing Bing – Actress, TV star, Singer ( and I’ll bet she can dance too). Why is it so many Asian actors/actresses do it all!!!

Anyway, Fan Bing Bing, hailed from China and has steadily rose to the top of her field and has made a mark in Asia and has also attended the 64th Cannes Film Festival promoting her new movie – My Way.

I wish I could tell you who styled the hair but after searching high and low I couldn’t find anything altho I saw L’Oreal (Paris) mentioned somewhere. Anyway whoever you are, I love it! Bringing masculine and feminine together in one look.

Hit or Miss.. Hats

Quite extraordinary talent I would say to be able to mold the hair or whatever medium was used to create these hats to look like hair. Hairstylist Olivier Chomienne was the talent behind these creations..

Pink Hair..

I have always loved the baby pink hair that’s been all over the place. I once had my own small pieces scattered throughout my hair, the only problem was having to bleach out the hair to a light enough shade of blonde in order to put the baby pink on it. Of course it didn’t last too long either but for the one day seminar I had to do it was fine.

Lately I’ve seen so many Ads and other pictures with that shade of pink, I was always told it would be difficult or almost impossible to get it looking so light and pink on Asian hair, which is why most people would settle just for the pieces in the dark hair. Here’s an example of the pink I was talking about…..

 

Anyway I came across one Asian girl who managed to get this shade of pink for herself… From the chart topping  South Korean Band.. Miss A, this young lady JIA looks fabulous as she’s swinging her hair around singing Bad Girl Good Girl with her other band members. (Thanks @ Doug Henderson) for showing me the video. So this just goes to show, if you’ve got enough time money and a great colorist, Asian’s can have baby pink hair!
