It amazed me to find out recently that a huge % of my blog readers are guys looking for guys cuts and colors, I’m always on the look out for great men’s hairdo’s to satisfy my readers as much as I can. So now courtesy of Hyphen Magazine (Asian American Mag) they did a whole article on cool cuts on Asian hair which I would like to share with you. In fact there was so many that I have decided to split them into 3 sections so you can check them out at your own rate… If you’d like to find out more about Hyphen, check them out! Thanks Hyphen.

My Pick–Pinky Bowl
What a cute look.. A strong bowl haircut with the dipping of the pink ends.. Yay!

Rinko Kikuchi’s new look
Somebody’s had their hair cut off and it looks great. Not one for shying away from different looks, Rinko Kikuchi is constantly changing her hairstyles and trying out new looks, Here is the Japanese actress, (known for her roles in Babel and 47 Ronin), posing for and hanging out at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival where she’s seen sporting a fab looking pixie cut. Always hard to pull off on coarse Asian hair due to the hair sticking out at right angles, but if your hair can get away with it, then go for it. I have always been sad that I have always ended up with the ‘bog brush’ type of look whenever I try the pixie!
Rare Jewels
One of my favorite stylist Angelo Seminara shows off some fabulous creative work for Davines for Creative Head. Here are some of my chosen ones..
‘Inspired by the bright patterns of color found in insects, Davines Artistic Director Angelo Seminara uses A New Color to create his beautiful new collection called Living Jewels. Blending artistry and practicality, Angelo manages to develop exciting new shades and inspired color placements without losing site of his goal to enhance his model’s existing beauty.’ – BehindTheChair.com

Brave New World
A gorgeous collection by Frank Apostopoulos, who won Australian Hairdresser of the Year – 2013. Frank is Creative Director for BIBA Australia.
His collection is called Brave New World, and as you can see is fantastically full of creativity with an edgy dark serene feel to his work. I love it, fabulous use of real and fake hair, would be perfect for a ‘Mad Max’ kind of movie! Love the make up and photography too!
Text and Pictures from’ Behind The Chair’ mag
‘Brave new world. The end came and went, and this is what remains. Shattered realities, retooled expectations, re-engineered dreams. And also, a certain freedom. Freedom to explore unexpected textures; thatched, corded and tufted. Freedom to challenge the limits of shape and color. Freedom to refresh the old, conventional notions of beauty, of what “works” and what’s appropriate. It’s a brave new world and for those who have faced the unthinkable, the future begins to shine just a little more brightly. ‘

Mark Hayes ~ Sassoon’s
With the help of his International Creative Team, Mark Hayes helped creative these fantastic styles for Vidal Sassoon Academy’s latest collection ~ The Dandies! Mark has inspired many hairstylists throughout the world in his position as the companies International Creative Director.
I’m proud to say that I too have been taught under Mark Hayes and he was one of my final test assessors, allowing me to become free to do my own thing, way back when in Leeds, England. To this day he continues to influence and was one of the contender for the British Hairdresser award 2013.
‘The Dandies takes the traditions of barbering and infuses them with a contemporary energy and verve creating a modern androgyny when boys’ cuts appear on girls’

Jo Bellamy Salon
Beautiful vibrant collection from the Jo Bellamy Salon, Australia.. Love these!
Words From Style Icons:
The Couture Punk collection by Jo Bellamy Salon displays a sense of rawness contrasted with soft silhouettes which represent a more modern and feminine approach.
The colour is the hero of the collection, provides light and shade to define movement and draw the eye to the fall and shape of the style. The colours are vibrant; a kaleidoscope of shades which meld together seamlessly.

Angelo Seminara
One of the hairdressing greats that I admire so much, Angelo is the Artistic Director of Davines (Hair product line) as well as three time British Hairdresser of the year winner. Here is another collection of his that I wanted to show you all, because this is a demonstration of how great he is, with his ‘Mother Of Pearl’ collection.
In this collection Mother of Pearl comes into focus as a brilliant shimmering cut and color combination. By strict definition, it’s the iridescent layer of material that forms the shell lining of pearl oysters and abalone. These looks show the interpretation of Angelo working with international creative color ambassador Edoardo Paludo.
