I love this unstructured, disheveled long bob shape. This is my kind of style and certainly a temptation for me. Helps if you have some movement in your mind you.. Lovely

The latest ‘IT’ girl is wearing the latest haircut! Lets look no further than Tina Haukjaer Anderson, she should know a thing or two about it ~ she created it!
Rosamund Pike’s undercut bob shape has been the buzz of Hollywood ever since that fantastic thriller ‘Gone Girl’ came out last month, based on the novel by Gillian Flynn.
I would say if Ben Affleck hadn’t gone all full frontal on us, he would’ve got his thunder stolen by Rosamund and her ‘Tina’ bob.
While watching the movie, you can’t help but admire the razor sharp bob that was on the big screen, every movement Rosamund made, the hair swung with her. Even during the dramatic gory scene, her hair looked perfect! So, it does not surprise me to find out that, that haircut was done by a fellow Sassooner, Tina Haukjaer Anderson. Ah! of course, now it makes sense, Vidal Sassoon, ultimate master of bobs.
Tina works at Vidal Sassoon training School in Beverly Hills as Senior Creative Director. Her expertise was fully utilized when she was called upon to style all the hairstyles for her friend Rosamund Pike’s character Amy Dunne in the movie, including all the wigs.
Here’s abit of Tina’s insight about the hair (excerpt taken from Sassoon Academy)
– “The Gone Girl haircut is classic Sassoon technique with a modern spin,” explained Tina. “All textures can wear this cut – curly, fine, thick, wavy – as long as the cut is tailored and personalized.”
– “The director [David Fincher] requested a seductive bob, so I decided to accentuate Rosamund’s elegant neckline and jawline by keeping the bob short.”
Anyway for those of you who have seen the movie, you know exactly what I mean, and for those who have yet to see it – GO!! Its been a long, time since an actual haircut has made such an impact on women around the world, creating a frenzy of women wanting their hair cut off to the perfect bob. I applaud you Tina for bringing that classic look (with a twist) back to life.

Just showing off some work done by Scott (Klassen) from Dekko Salon, Here’s our lovely client Rae with her precision bob.
I instagrammed it earlier to show it off together. Cheers..
Our favorite model/client Kerina comes in and changes her hair quite often, this is one of the reasons I wanted Kerina to be the face of Juju Chan’s first product Texture Powder Styler.
This picture shows the first step to her next change ~ going blonde and going back to her fringey look.
I (as usual) forgot to take the ‘before’ picture until after we shampooed, hence the wet hair, but anyway you can still get the idea. We cut the hair a little shorter this time, but went for a full on rounded fringe. Jill (Dekko’s co- owner and colorist) used L’Oreal to start the first stages of going lighter. Hair was styled with Oribe products.
I will keep you posted with each step of the way to show you the finished result…
If your looking for some inspiration on street hair, look no further than the Nasty Gal website. Quite often I find myself browsing this site as I admire their choice of models and hair. This post shows the great use of hair piece/extensions. The haircut by itself is strong and dramatic with the bold choppy fringe and cut off sides, but with the added combination of the longer razored layers, it creates an overall softer look.
Then as you can see, with the addition of the extensions throughout the back the haircut can be transformed into a totally different feel and look.
It shows us with abit of creativity we can quite easily change our looks out on a daily basis.
Love this guys work. Some of my Favorite Fabulous images from Creative Head..

Laurie has been a client of Dekko’s for quite some time. Our technician Heather has been coloring her lovely long locks for a number of years now. Normally Laurie would trim up her hair length and add afew layers here and there, keeping it a long messy textured look. Recently she came in and decided to go for a big change.
We went for a long bob (LOB) shape and cut it with a razor to keep the ends looking soft and piece-y.. We decided to keep the layers limited and very long, but the hair was razored throughout to take alot of the weight out. The reason for this was to keep the style less layered looking and more piece-y.
It was a fun cut to do and Laurie looked great with her new length. We styled it using Oribe styling cream and Oribe Royal Blowout.
