Dekko’s Daily Grind ~ Deanna

I did this haircut a long time ago on Deanna, but never got round to show it off to you so here it after all this time. Deanna’s hair had been ultra long for sooooo long so we decided to whip it all off for her birthday one year. We even got acclaimed San Francisco stylist Heather to do her shampoo for her ; )

And of course I wasn’t so organized to have my camera on me, we took these ‘after’ photos at different stages over the following weeks, showing straight and wavy looks, as you can see, the look is refreshing, cute and sexy..

Hair Twister

Walked into H&M the other day and came across this contraption for the hair. We’ve all seen and played with the round donut types but this one is a simple long sponge twister, perfect for anyone who wants a bun at the nape of the neck.

Maybe you’ve all seen and played with this one too, I think its just me who’s abit out of touch with what’s selling out there nowadays but here it is for anyone interested..

Full simple instructions as to how to use it, Viola! Cheap and Cheerful too!

Hairstyles for Guys ~ Part 1

It amazed me to find out recently that a huge % of my blog readers are guys looking for guys cuts and colors,  I’m always on the look out for great men’s hairdo’s to satisfy my readers as much as I can. So now courtesy of Hyphen Magazine (Asian American Mag) they did a whole article on cool cuts on Asian hair which I  would  like to share with you. In fact there was so many that I have decided to split them into 3 sections so you can check them out at your own rate… If you’d like to find out more about Hyphen, check them out! Thanks Hyphen.

My Pick ~ Simplicity

I love this simple sophisticated look. Sometimes after seeing so many crazy ‘out there’ hairstyles, its good to get back to the basics, both in color and haircut and styling.

This one is by Ari Koponen and Cecilia Nygren from the Scandi Collection:

Rinko Kikuchi’s new look

Somebody’s had their hair cut off and it looks great. Not one for shying away from different looks, Rinko Kikuchi is constantly changing her hairstyles and trying out new looks, Here is the Japanese actress, (known for her roles in Babel and 47 Ronin), posing for and hanging out at  the 2014 Sundance Film Festival where she’s seen sporting a fab looking pixie cut. Always hard to pull off on coarse Asian hair due to the hair sticking out at right angles, but if your hair can get away with it, then go for it. I have always been sad that I have always ended up with the ‘bog brush’ type of look whenever I try the pixie!
