I came across these hairstyles from American Salon magazine and thought I would share them with you, The hair was done by Desmond Murray who I thought made longer hair look sexy and sultry while the short looked edgy and rocking!
Just wanted to show you a quick makeover on Shelley who came in recently to have a change in color as well as a slight change in the style of fringe.
Shelley had never really tried having a fringe before so we gave her quite a heavy one so it could keep the slight wave in her hair weighted down more. We also put a lot more layering into the rest of the hair so the curl would bounce up much more.
Color wise, Jodi took the color from a coppery shade and lifted it up to a beigey blondey shade which is very flattering to the complexion. Great look Shelley all round : )

I came across these great images from the American Salon magazine which featured the new release of Schwarzkopf’s new and exciting color – Igora Royal.
The Igora Royal color line delivers 50% longer color retention and 25% greater vibrancy without fadeage.
This spring/summer 2013 collection from Schwarzkopf and Essential Looks highlights 4 different trends spilt into these categories: White Angels, Mono Mods, Glam Chic and Electric Youth, all of which have been colored with the new igora Royal.
Hair by Steve Hogan,(Schwarzkopf) Tyler Johnston and Lesley Lawson (Essential Looks)
I have picked out 4 of my favorite looks from the White Angels and the the Electric Youth collections. Hope you enjoy them.

Here’s one more review for the Morroccan Oil family, my update with the latest curly hair products. I mentioned to you earlier about my love for Moroccan Oil’s Curl Defining Cream, and although I still love it on people who prefer a softer more flexible hold on their curls, I have now found another one of their curl creams that I prefer more for an even more defined look.
The Intense Curl Cream is great for anyone who likes to feel abit more product in their hair, this cream is heavier and creates more definite waves/curls. The consistency of the cream is a lot thicker than the Curl Defining Cream therefore it helps to cling the ends of the hair together and doesn’t allow the frizz to come through on the ends. This one also brings shine through to the ends of the hair, so if you like some shine on your curls these products give you that. Ideal for people who prefer to leave their hair to dry naturally.
Apply by rubbing cream into your hands and then by working in into the hair, I tend to start at the middle lengths, ends then lastly the roots, so that there is not too much product on the roots. Then once the cream is worked in, you can twist the curls into more definite twirls before either diffusing or leaving to dry naturally.
I have to add that I have had a couple of clients who found this product to be too heavy on their hair, so they should definitely use the Curl Defining Cream instead, but for the rest of you, this product is definitely worth a try!
The Costume Institute Gala, otherwise known as The Met is an annual ball to celebrate the opening of the Metropolitan Museums fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. Hosted by Vogue and is regarded as one of New York’s top annual social event. This year the theme was Punk ~ Chaos to Couture.
Well, with such a fabulous theme to work from this year, I was expecting all the stars and celebs to go ‘all out’ and to have punky fun hairstyles, but to my dismay I was slightly disappointed to see so many celebs that seem to have missed out on the PUNK memo, including the Vogue editor in chief herself, Anna Wintour, who was dressed in a floral pink number with her signature bob. I mean, if you don’t go overboard for the red carpet for this theme, then when can you?
Anyway after scouting around online, I have chosen some of my favorite styles on celebs who I thought made a huge effort to work the theme, so whether you like them or not, you have to give them props for trying…
Such a shame that some celebs such as Jessica Biel, Olivia Wilde, Kate Beckinsale, Miranda Kerr, Kristin Stewart (surprisingly) and Anna Wintour (organizer) to name afew that chose to be so boring and safe. Come on ladies.. lighten up, it would’ve been fun!
My lovely goddaughter was thinking of chopping all her hair off like Charlize Theron’s so I suggested that she colored her long blonde hair Lilac before she did the chop, And Yay, she agreed!
Dekko’s own lovely colorist and co-owner Jodi Ninomiya offered to do the color for her, so Belle came into Dekko for her makeover.
First I want to show you Belle’s hair before, here she is with her blonde slices, this was the base for the Lilac to go in..
Jodi added slices/panels of deeper purple in foil and used a pale Lilac shade to cover the rest of her hair up, here’s the lovely colors used and showing you while it was on the hair…
And here’s Belle with her gorgeous result, sorry the photos are abit dark, end of the night! Thanks to Jodi for staying so late to make Belle so cute, funky and Lilac…
OK Belle, next you can cut it all off and I’ll show you that too as I’m sure it’ll be just as adorable!

Here’s an old but useful blog post from a few years ago….
Well, to be quite honest with you 8 times out of 10, its whoever is handling the hair that is making it frizz! (The other causes being weather, pregnancy or health)
Some lovely images from Soma magazine, sorry they are not very clear copies but you can still get the idea of these lovely shapes, Hair by Ryutaro at AKA.
Admittedly the first shot looks abit too perfect or should I say abit too touched up but I love the shape regardless.
