With the help of his International Creative Team, Mark Hayes helped creative these fantastic styles for Vidal Sassoon Academy’s latest collection ~ The Dandies! Mark has inspired many hairstylists throughout the world in his position as the companies International Creative Director.
I’m proud to say that I too have been taught under Mark Hayes and he was one of my final test assessors, allowing me to become free to do my own thing, way back when in Leeds, England. To this day he continues to influence and was one of the contender for the British Hairdresser award 2013.
‘The Dandies takes the traditions of barbering and infuses them with a contemporary energy and verve creating a modern androgyny when boys’ cuts appear on girls’

Katie’s been a client of dekko’s for a while now and she usually keeps her hair color around the same shade of reddy brown. We were inspired by a look we came across a while ago mixing black with brown, so our colorist Nikki decided to change Katie’s hair up and apply this same color combination on Katie’s new look with the heavy fringe.
Here’s afew of Katie with her before hair and color:
And this is after Nikki and I got to her… (sorry I didn’t take clearer pics but sometimes you just don’t have a phone/camera handy : /
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my readers and followers, I truly appreciate you all 🙂
Unbelievable but here we are again, it’s that time of the year where we stop and reflect on yet another year, what we have achieved and what else we could’ve should’ve done! Sigh! Or at least thats what I usually do anyway, hope I’m not the only miserable person getting all serious with this.. Lol!
Anyway, I have reflected and have decided this has been a hell of a year, one of my best – for travel, for work and for reaching a milestone with my age lol!
Here’s to all you lot out there and hope you too have achieved all your wishes and dreams this year, if not we’ve got the start of a brand new one.. dont give up and all the best!
HAPPY 2014

Here’s are some lovely shapes and styles by Rebecca Hubbard from Dextress Hair Salon, Australia.. Enjoy!
Beautiful vibrant collection from the Jo Bellamy Salon, Australia.. Love these!
Words From Style Icons:
The Couture Punk collection by Jo Bellamy Salon displays a sense of rawness contrasted with soft silhouettes which represent a more modern and feminine approach.
The colour is the hero of the collection, provides light and shade to define movement and draw the eye to the fall and shape of the style. The colours are vibrant; a kaleidoscope of shades which meld together seamlessly.

I tried so hard to find this haircut color combination without all the text/font on top of it but I don’t think this magazine is letting loose of it yet, hence here it is in all its glory complete with American Salon on top of it. But you get the idea.. I loved this look so much I couldn’t resist. Such a cute color and cut combination by Ricardo Dinis for Aveda. The choker is cool too may I add. Ricardo is Global Director for cutting, not sure who did the color though but its blooming gorgeous!
